[K-WW Brilliant Darkness Finale Part-7] [8]
Seolhyun had resigned herself to dying beneath the crushing weight of the rocks. Just as she thought her end had come, everything was suddenly bathed in a blinding blue light, and she felt weightless. It was as if all sense of gravity had vanished. She lost consciousness, wondering if this was what it felt like to die.
When she opened her eyes, the sky was blue, and clouds drifted overhead. “Seolhyun unni is awake,” Yoonjung’s voice softly reached her ears. Seolhyun sat up, blinking in disbelief. They were no longer in the cave, but in a serene, open field. Yoonjung knelt beside her, relief flooding her face.
HyeGyo stood nearby, her back turned toward them. Her transformed figure radiated power, but something was different. Seolhyun could see the tension in her posture, the stillness in her movements. “HyeGyo unni… you saved us, didn’t you?” Seolhyun asked cautiously. HyeGyo didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she looked around as if she were looking for something.
Yoonjung furrowed her brow. “HyeGyo unni? What’s wrong?” There was a brief moment of silence before HyeGyo spoke, her voice calm yet distant. “Is it… night already? Why is it so dark?” Seolhyun and Yoonjung exchanged worried glances. The sky was clear, the sun shining brightly above them. Yoonjung whispered, her voice trembling, “It’s not night...” Realization dawned on them. HyeGyo could no longer see.
HyeGyo, despite understanding the gravity of the situation, remained unmoved. She stood there, composed as ever, her expression momentarily hardening before returning to its usual calm. The skeletal knight, who had been watching in silence, stepped forward, his eyes filled with concern. He knew what HyeGyo had sacrificed to save them.
HyeGyo, feeling the gentle breeze on her skin, accepted her fate without a word. She had saved them with an incredible power—teleportation—but at the cost of her sight. As the breeze swept across the field, HyeGyo’s hair flowed gracefully in the wind. HyeGyo silently opened her mouth, “Let’s go home.”

The skeletal knight stands protectively nearby, his body adorned in ancient, battle-worn armor. His skull glints in the sunlight, with hollow eye sockets that burn with two pinpricks of red light. His bony hands rest on the hilt of a broken great sword, remnants of which still glow with faint blue energy. He observes HyeGyo silently, a sense of respect and concern evident in his posture. Despite his skeletal appearance, there is a warrior’s dignity in how he stands, watching over the group with unwavering loyalty.
