Prologue:Domestic Cat
"Another boring day for house cats..." I'm Ashe, a white ginger female cat, a house cat... It doesn't matter, I'm bored to death.
I wandered into the living room and squinted at the food bowl. Suddenly, I found that the window was half open and a gentle breeze was blowing into the room.
"This might be a good opportunity for me to escape to the forest!" I jumped out of the window, ran in the courtyard, and escaped through the gap in the fence.
When I ran out of the yard, I saw a vast forest and towering trees. Compared to the confinement of my home, the forest gave me a full sense of freedom.
"Ashe? Ashe!"
"Well, that must be Rose, there's no need to worry about me." I returned to the yard and saw Rose, a cream-colored tabby female cat lying on the fence.
"Ashe! You're here! You ran into the forest again, didn't you?" Ross asked me with a worried look on his face. I couldn't help but feel angry. No matter who it was, why were they restraining me?
「……」
"There you go! Oh, Ace, don't you know how dangerous it is out there?"
"Of course, everyone says it's dangerous. That's what cats who have never been there say." I frowned. Rose wouldn't know how much I yearn for freedom. She only understood how fragile our cats are.
"That's not that bad, Rose..." I wanted to try to reassure her, pray for her understanding.
Rose didn't know that I always expected her approval in every move I made.
"But you've barely been there! If you have, you haven't gone very far in there!" Ross refused to accept my reassurance, "You've never even caught a mouse, how are you going to survive there?"
"I can survive there! I will come back from there with hundreds of rats!" I finally yelled angrily, I don't care about Ross, and rushed out of the hole in the fence.
Suppressing my beating heart, I escaped from the restrictive home.
"Wait a minute, Ash!" I heard Ross say, "That's all I said.
It's all wrong! Come on, Ash. I didn't mean it..."
"Please, don't go..." I heard these words, but I never looked back. Rushing into the forest meant I was getting involved in something I didn't know yet.
